Do I need to download or install anything to use the virtual labs? 

No. The virtual machines can be accessed if you have an HTML5 supported browser.

What computer specification do I need to run the labs? 

  1. Hardware Requirements
    1. Notebook or Laptop
    2. Desktop PC
    Mobile devices, tablets, and PDAs are not supported.
  2. Memory:
    1. 512 MB and higher
    2. 1GB RAM and higher (recommended for better performance)
  3. Processor:
    1. Pentium 3 CPU at 733MHz (or equivalent) and higher

What screen resolution do I need? 

  1. The labs are best viewed at a screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater. Otherwise, you may experience clipping of content.

What keyboard configuration is used in the virtual labs? 

  1. Lab Machines are configured for US English and support US QWERTY English Language Keyboards (Standard 101/102Key).
  2. The lab machines have on-screen keyboard support.

How fast of an Internet connection do I need? 

  1. Dedicated 50KBps (minimum) Internet connection is required to access the labs.
  2. A WiFi connection is also acceptable but not recommended.

How do I login to my account? 

  1. Visit https://bytestor.hatsize.com
  2. Login with the credentials provided to you by your scheduler.

I can't remember my password. How do I reset it? 

  1. https://bytestor.hatsize.com/user/password/forgot
    1. You will need your username and email account.
      1. If you cannot remember your username or email, reach out to your scheduler/instructor.

While in the labs, how do I control a student's virtual machine? 

  1. View the appropriate students virtual machine.
  2. In the top right corner click on the "System" button.
  3. Click on the "Take Control" selection.
    1. After taking control, you can release control by going back and selecting "Release Control".

While in the labs, how do I broadcast a specific virtual machine to the class? 

  1. View the appropriate students virtual machine.
  2. In the top right corner click on the "System" button.
  3. Click on the "Start Broadcast" selection.
    1. You can stop the broadcast to the class by going back and selecting "Stop Broadcast".
